TERMS AND CONDITIONS

Quotations and Deposits

  • A quotation is an estimation of overall cost of installation and is subject to change. 
  • Once the quotation has been accepted and confirmed, in writing, a 70% deposit is required to secure stock and installation. 
  • Once deposit had been made without written consent, a tacit agreement will be seen as the legal obligation. 
  • All payments and deposits must be up to date as no work will commence until deposit amount is accompanied by a proof of payment, unless arrangements are agreed upon by both parties. 
  • The deposit amount is non-refundable.
  • Any additional work will be quoted and invoice separately.
  • Once deposit is made, a date of installation will be provided. 
  • Quotations are valid for 14 days.

P.O.D Electrical is a registered electrical contracting service provider that conforms to the requirements set out by the South African National Standards SANS 10142-1. 

Installation and payments

  • All additional material not quoted for, supplied by P.O.D Electrical (Pty) Ltd will be invoiced separately. 
  • Draw payments will be arranged and agreed upon by all parties, progress report will be issued upon request, this will provide details regarding installation and payments periods. 
  • Failure to pay progress payments according to progress report will result in the postponement of services until payments are made. 
  • Material remains the property of P.O.D Electrical (PTY) Ltd until paid in full,  Retention of title (ROT) clause. 
  • Handover of Certificate of Compliance and Warranty documents will only be done once the final payment has been received.
  • Variance order will be issued due to inflation on material cost.  

P.O.D Electrical (Pty) Ltd will not be held liable for the lead time on the fixing or replacement of the faulty equipment and/or electrical components. This is solely the supplier/manufacturer’s responsibility.

Construction

  • All quotes are standard and are based on the architect’s designs and plans.
  • Should switches and sockets be supplied by P.O.D Electrical, these fittings will be that of SANS approved entry-level products will be installed. Should the client request a specific brand, a separate quote will issued.
  • Should light fittings be supplied by P.O.D Electrical, these fixtures will be that of SANS approved fittings will be installed. Additional products such as electrical appliances, geysers, underfloor heating, heated towel rails, and any other electrical finishes not listed above will be supplied by the client.  
  • If the quote is accepted and P.O.D Electrical (Pty) Ltd is chosen as the electrical contractor, any changes hereafter to the electrical plan will have to be quoted as additional work and will be invoiced accordingly. All changes and extra requirements must be given in writing.

Please note that all quotes are based according to site plan design, any additions or changes will quoted on separately, changes in advance. Quotes are subject to change if regulations are infringed, these changes will be quoted on separately and in accordance with SANS 10124.

Alternative Energy

  • Application and registration of Small Scale embedded generator (SSEG) must take place when installing panels on a property. 
  • It is the responsibility of the consumer/client for the application and registration of the SSEG. This is independent to P.O.D Electrical scope of work. However, P.O.D Electrical can assist consumer/clients with the process should the consumer/client wish us to do so, this is subjected to an invoice for services rendered

Service & Product Guarantees

Installation: P.O.D Electrical (Pty) Ltd will provide a 1-year guarantee on workmanship from the date of installation, this guarantee will be null and void should any third party work on the installation and/or in the event of any malicious damage to the installation and/or any damage caused by acts of God. Acceptance of the quote and payment made accordingly will be seen as an agreement to the workmanship guarantee between P.O.D Electrical (Pty) Ltd and the client.

Equipment/components : The Inverter, Batteries, and Solar Panels will carry a guarantee by the suppliers/manufacturers accordingly provided that any damage or loss caused by lightning, acts of God, power surges, theft malicious damage and/or negligent handling are excluded.

P.O.D Electrical (Pty) Ltd will not be held liable for the lead time on the fixing or replacement of the faulty equipment/components . This is solely the supplier/manufacturer’s responsibility.

Excludes any equipment not installed by the P.O.D Electrical (Pty) Ltd.

Scope of work

Aspects covered by P.O.D Electrical (Pty) Ltd

  • residential and commercial premises,
  • public and industrial premises,
  • prefabricated buildings,
  • construction and demolition site installations,
  • agricultural and horticultural premises,
  • caravan sites and similar sites,
  • temporary installations,
  • alternative energy supply 
  • Earthing arrangements 


Aspects not covered by P.O.D Electrical (Pty) Ltd

  • electric traction equipment,
  • automotive electrical equipment 
  • electrical installations on board ships,
  • electrical installations in aircraft,
  • electrical installations for underground and open cast mining operations,
  • telecommunication, television and radio circuits
  • external lightning protection of buildings and structures as it is covered bySANS 10313, and
  • extra low voltage control circuits between different parts of machinery 

Installation dates are put in place to allow planning from our side as well as the client, however, these are subject to change depending on the weather and stock availability.

* Warranty registrations need to be done to in order for the inverter and/or batteries should be completed by clients.The serial number of the inverter is required as well as the battery serial number. Please ensure that you are aware of what is covered by the equipment’s warranty. 

* Once the installation is completed and an invoice has been sent –  payments are due according to the terms and conditions set out above. No payments can be withheld due to “system failures” caused by clients changing settings or overloading the system – causing the system to fault.

* P.O.D Electrical (Pty) Ltd will not be held responsible for equipment failure due to setting changes made by the client. 

*  Callout fees will be charged should P.O.D Electrical (Pty) Ltd, find that the system faults and/or errors are due to overload and/or changes to the settings made by clients.
